A two-day event was held to showcase Japan’s most notable film works today, featuring directors, producers, and other key members of the creative teams.
Through screenings, Q&A sessions, panel discussions, and receptions designed for U.S. industry professionals—primarily based in Hollywood—the event presented high-profile Japanese titles while also providing valuable networking opportunities.

Day 1

ーFeature Film Showing / 映画の日ー

The event was held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and was attended by leading figures from the film industry, including AMPAS members and media representatives. A screening of Kokuhō, Japan’s official submission for the 98th Academy Awards® International Feature Film category, was presented and received with enthusiastic applause from the audience.The screening was followed by a Q&A panel featuring director Sang-il Lee and lead actor Ryō Yoshizawa, during which they discussed the project in depth—from the early stages of character development through the actual filming process—highlighting the creative vision and appeal of the work.At the subsequent networking reception, with Director Lee also in attendance, active exchanges took place among Japanese and U.S. film industry professionals, fostering meaningful cross-border connections.

The event was held as an invitation-only gathering at Candela La Brea, a venue that has hosted numerous events for leading U.S. corporations. With Japanese and U.S. film and visual media professionals joined by a wide range of influencers and media representatives, a curated lineup of Japanese-origin content was showcased in a single, high-impact presentation.Two panel discussions, structured to reflect current industry trends, featured panelists actively working at the forefront of the Japanese and U.S. markets, highlighting the “now” of Japanese content. A sizzle reel incorporating a diverse mix of genres (live-action, anime, and animation) and formats (feature films and series) was screened, drawing enthusiastic reactions from the audience for each title.At the networking reception, a broad spectrum of film and visual media professionals—from major studios to independent players—participated, engaging in lively and meaningful exchanges.
